01

Family care

Osteopathy is a holistic, hands-on approach to healthcare that focuses on treating the body as a whole. Through precise techniques, osteopathy aims to restore balance, improve mobility, and alleviate pain by enhancing the body's natural healing processes. This therapeutic approach benefits patients of all ages and can be adapted to meet the specific needs of each stage of life.

02

Pediatric care

Osteopathy offers gentle and effective treatment for newborns, addressing the unique needs of infants in their earliest stages of life. The birthing process can put stress on a baby’s delicate body, leading to issues such as colic, reflux, sleep disturbances, and difficulties with feeding. Through soft and precise techniques, osteopathy aims to release tension, improve alignment, and support the natural development of the newborn’s musculoskeletal and nervous systems.

03

Child care

Osteopathy plays an essential role in supporting the health and development of children and adolescents, offering both preventive care and targeted treatment for a range of common issues. During these key stages of growth, children’s bodies undergo rapid changes, and osteopathy can help address postural issues, musculoskeletal pain, and conditions such as scoliosis— a spinal curvature that often develops during adolescence.

04

Pregnant women care

Osteopathy offers gentle, non-invasive care for expectant mothers, helping them navigate the physical changes and discomforts that often accompany pregnancy. As the body adapts to accommodate the growing baby, many women experience lower back pain, pelvic discomfort, swelling, and digestive issues. Osteopathy can provide relief by improving alignment, enhancing circulation, and reducing tension, allowing mothers-to-be to enjoy a more comfortable pregnancy.

05

Preventive care

Osteopathy is not only effective for treating existing conditions but also plays a crucial role in preventing future health issues. By focusing on balance, alignment, and optimal function of the body’s systems, osteopathy can help individuals maintain long-term wellness and avoid common musculoskeletal issues. Regular osteopathic care can be particularly beneficial for those with sedentary lifestyles, who perform repetitive physical tasks, or individuals prone to stress and tension.

06

Acute care

Osteopathy offers powerful relief for individuals suffering from acute and chronic pain, providing intensive care to alleviate discomfort, improve function, and support recovery. Whether dealing with sudden injuries, like sprains or strains, or managing long-term conditions, such as arthritis or persistent back pain, osteopathy addresses the root causes of pain through precise, targeted treatments. By realigning the body, reducing muscle tension, and enhancing joint mobility, osteopathy helps restore balance and function to areas in distress.

My  story

The faces behind our exceptional care

A little bit about my story

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy from Universidade do Grande ABC, Brazil, completed in 2002. I also have extensive additional education and training in Osteopathy, Manual Therapy and Chiropractic.

I previously practised as a physiotherapist in Brazil, where I developed more than 20 years of clinical experience working with newborns, children, adults and older adults. I currently practise in Ontario as an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner.

My additional professional education includes postgraduate training in Sports Injuries, as well as training in a variety of manual therapy and movement-based approaches, including McKenzie Method/MDT, Mulligan Concepts, Myofascial Release, Graston Technique, neural mobilization, functional training and other manual therapy techniques.

My clinical experience

Over more than two decades of clinical practice in Brazil, I have worked with patients presenting with a wide range of musculoskeletal and movement-related concerns, including headaches and migraines, herniated discs, sciatica, low back and neck pain, torticollis, nerve compression, scoliosis, spinal stenosis, osteoarthritis, postural dysfunctions, tendinitis, bursitis, muscle injuries, and rehabilitation following surgery involving the spine, knee, shoulder and hip.

My experience has also included working with patients at very different stages of life, from newborns and children to adults and seniors. This broad clinical background has shaped the way I approach each patient: by looking beyond the area where the symptoms are felt and considering how the body as a whole may be contributing to the problem.

Why Osteopathy?

Osteopathy became an important part of my professional journey because of its emphasis on understanding the relationship between different parts of the body and how movement, mobility, posture and tissue function can influence overall physical well-being.

For adults, osteopathic manual treatment can be used as part of a comprehensive approach to many musculoskeletal concerns, including back and neck pain, joint restrictions, movement limitations and other conditions affecting the body's muscles and joints. Depending on the individual needs of the patient, I may combine manual treatment with mobility exercises, stretching, strengthening and movement education.

My passion for Osteopathy has also been shaped by personal experiences within my own family.

One of the first significant experiences was with my father, who experienced severe cervicobrachial pain accompanied by weakness in his hands, altered sensation in his fingers, headaches, and significant pain extending from his neck into his arm. He had previously tried medication, massage and physiotherapy without achieving the improvement we had hoped for. Osteopathic treatment, combined with an individualized approach, became an important part of his recovery, and he experienced significant improvement over the following weeks.

Another meaningful experience involved my wife, Ana Paula, who experienced a severe episode of sciatica that persisted for more than two months. Her pain extended from the buttock down her right leg and became particularly difficult when sitting. Her treatment involved osteopathic manual therapy combined with specific stretching and strengthening exercises. Over the course of treatment, she experienced progressive improvement and eventually returned to her normal activities.

These experiences reinforced something that has remained central to my practice: every person responds differently, and effective care requires understanding the individual rather than simply treating a symptom.

Osteopathy throughout life

I have a particular interest in working with patients at different stages of life, including newborns, children, adults, pregnant and postpartum women, and older adults.

My approach with infants is gentle and individualized. I consider factors such as pregnancy and birth history, feeding, sucking, sleep, digestion, movement and general comfort when determining whether osteopathic care may be appropriate.

My interest in infant care is also deeply personal. My son was born prematurely and spent an extended period in the neonatal intensive care unit. During his early months, our family faced several challenges, including difficulties with feeding, sleep and digestion. This experience gave me a very personal understanding of how important support can be for both babies and their families during the early stages of life.

A whole-person approach

As a healthcare professional, I believe that good care begins with understanding the person as a whole.

The body is an interconnected system. When one area is affected by injury, restricted movement or changes in function, other areas may adapt and compensate. These adaptations can sometimes contribute to changes in movement, stiffness, discomfort and reduced function.

Osteopathic manual practice uses hands-on techniques to assess and address areas of restricted mobility and altered musculoskeletal function. Depending on the individual, treatment may involve the joints, muscles, connective tissues and other structures of the body, together with movement education and therapeutic exercises when appropriate.

My goal is not simply to focus on where a patient feels pain. Instead, I aim to understand the broader factors that may be contributing to the person's symptoms and functional limitations, and to develop an individualized treatment approach based on their needs, goals and clinical presentation.

Every patient is different. My role is to listen, assess carefully, explain what I find, and work together with each person toward better movement, comfort and function.

Reviews

What our patients say about us

"Giuliano has magical hands, is a true healer in every sense of the word. Adjustments to my spine were precise and exactly what I asked for.

He took care to find out about my past history and I could tell he was sincere and interested about my recent heart attack and concussion.

He is both strong and sensitive which makes for a perfect combination when caring for more elderly people like myself and newborns like my 12 day old granddaughter, Svea.

I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

Thank you so much."

Neil Clifford

"I had the pleasure of seeing Giuliano for my lower back pain postpartum and I couldn't be more impressed with both the quality of care and the overall experience. From our initial assessment, I felt at ease because of his warm and welcoming demeanor. It's clear that he genuinely cares about his patients' well-being, taking the time to listen to my concerns and explain each step of the treatment process.

His recommendations were highly effective, and the addition of osteopathy to my treatment plan was a game-changer. I noticed a significant reduction in tension and pain after just a few sessions. I would absolutely recommend him for any postpartum needs/concerns."

Ella Horsun

"Giuliano was fantastic! He was a wealth of knowledge about both breast and bottle feeding, providing me with tons of tips and tricks for success. I was able to get a comfortable latch for the first time today!

His approach was kind and efficient, without being forceful.
He was patient and took extra time to talk me through all my concerns and questions. Her full body assessment of my baby was very helpful, providing me with peace of mind.

I will most definitely book follow-up appointments with him as needed.

Thank you Giuliano, for all your assistance."
